Yard Assistant – Hiring Immediately!

Pay: $21.00/hour

What You’ll Do:
- Monitor and manage trailer and vehicle access in and out of the yard
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments and verify exchanges
- Document equipment conditions and damage using e-Trak or similar systems
- Maintain accurate trailer/container data in Excel and internal systems
- Perform routine inventory counts and reconcile records with Yard Management System (YMS)
- Assign parking spots for trailers and vehicles based on yard protocols
- Conduct yard security checks and support import/export processing
- Keep work areas clean and assist with yard/warehouse housekeeping
- Complete checklists and documentation accurately and on time
- Handle In-Bond shipments and shipping/receiving paperwork when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in customs brokerage, dispatch, or similar field
- Minimum 6 months of inventory control and shipping/receiving documentation experience
- Experience with oversized imports and In-Bond shipments preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Able to read invoices, bills of lading, and shipping documents
- Knowledge of cargo handling and yard management processes
- Basic computer and Microsoft Excel skills
- Familiar with C-TPAT security standards, HAZMAT, and SDS protocols
- Attention to detail and strong communication with vendors, drivers, and team members
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
- Frequent material handling and movement
- Work involves both warehouse and outdoor conditions, including forklift operations
