Volunteer Manager
Location: Ventura, CA (100% onsite)
A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a passionate and dynamic Volunteer Manager to lead and grow its volunteer programs across Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties. This role focuses on volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition, playing a vital part in supporting sports and community initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit & Engage: Develop and execute plans to recruit, train, and place volunteers in leadership, coaching, and event roles.
- Support & Retain: Ensure volunteers are well-prepared, supported, and recognized for their contributions.
- Manage Programs: Oversee volunteer activities at events, manage software systems for tracking, and support community outreach initiatives.
- Recognize Contributions: Lead efforts to appreciate and celebrate volunteers through various recognition programs.
- Collaborate: Work closely with staff, community partners, and local programs to meet organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience managing volunteers, including recruitment and retention.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
Compensation
- Salary range: $62,780 – $66,430, depending on experience.
- Full benefits available starting the first of the month after hire.
