Eastridge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a company that fabricates components used in space missions, yes, real space hardware! If you’re someone who gets excited about detailed work and learning something totally new, this is your kind of role.
Here’s the deal:
This role involves a lot of learning. It’s not about coming in and doing things the way you've always done them. You’ll need to come in with an open mind, ready to absorb new techniques, processes, and expectations. The right person will ask questions, seek clarity, and be excited to grow in the role, not assume they already know how to do it. Coachability is key.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Soldering and assembling electronic, mechanical, optical, and cable harness components.
- Following detailed work instructions that meet NASA and IPC standards.
- Keeping accurate records of each build and maintaining documentation.
- Supporting prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and mechanical integration.
- Cross-training with other team members to grow your skillset and pitch in as needed.
- Participating in team meetings and communicating progress to leadership.
- Performing daily ESD check-ins and working in a cleanroom environment.
- Keeping your tools and workspace organized and in good condition.
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or college coursework is a plus.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in soldering, cable harness assembly, and light mechanical work.
- Strong soldering skills and the ability to work under a microscope for detailed tasks.
- Experience reading schematics and following technical instructions.
- A steady hand, sharp eye, and a strong commitment to quality and detail.
- J-STD-001 certification preferred. (Space Addendum certification is a major plus!)
- Willingness to earn NASA-STD 8739.1 certification if not already certified.
- Familiarity with MS Excel and Word for documentation and reporting.
- Machining or fixture-building experience is helpful, but not required.
Who Will Succeed in This Role:
- Someone who’s coachable, curious, and eager to learn.
- Someone who communicates clearly and isn’t afraid to speak up when something’s unclear.
- Someone who can stay focused, follow detailed processes, and take pride in doing things right—even when it takes time.
- Someone who is honest, accountable, and thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Other Things to Know:
- This is a cleanroom environment, full gowning protocols will apply.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10lbs and perform repetitive fine motor tasks.
- Flexibility to work occasional off-hours and potentially travel to vendors/customers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to stay focused in a high-precision, fast-paced environment are key.
If you’re excited to be trained in something truly specialized—and you’re ready to join a team that values integrity, curiosity, and growth—let’s talk.
