Job Title: Temporary HR Assistant

Location: San Diego, CA (Onsite Only)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Overtime May Be Required)

Pay Rate: $21/hour

Job Summary

A respected organization in the healthcare and pharmacy benefits sector is seeking a Temporary HR Assistant to support daily administrative and operational functions within the Human Resources department. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual capable of managing sensitive information, coordinating with multiple teams, and providing exceptional internal support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to HR leadership and team members
• Initiate and process hires in Workday as directed
• Track staffing activity and compile regular reports using internal data
• Post approved job openings to designated staffing agencies
• Coordinate pre-employment background checks with external vendors
• Manage exit paperwork and ensure timely distribution for separating employees
• Assist with documentation and recordkeeping related to Talent Acquisition
• Support onboarding and HR operations tasks within Workday
• Cover front desk and HR reception duties as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–3 years of experience in HR operations or staffing preferred
• Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS platforms (Workday preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (Visio, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat a plus)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information appropriately

Additional Information

• This is a temporary, non-exempt position
• Position is 100% onsite; remote work is not available
• Occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, or holiday work may be required
• No travel associated with this role
