Eastridge Workforce Solutions, a premier provider of workforce management solutions, is seeking an EHS Manager for a leading packaging & manufacturing company in the Los Angeles area. This role is ideal for a safety-focused professional with 3+ years of experience, OSHA expertise, and a passion for workplace safety.
Position Overview
The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires strong leadership, risk assessment skills, and the ability to drive a culture of safety across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Compliance
- Develop and implement health & safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Regularly review and update safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Serve as the primary contact for the Health & Safety Committee, leading monthly meetings and facility safety walk-throughs.
- Conduct accident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Collect and analyze injury and incident data to identify trends and recommend safety improvements.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and PPE evaluations.
Facility & Operations Management
- Oversee emergency response planning, including CPR/AED certification programs.
- Manage security, pest control, uniform programs, and facility planning to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Work closely with department managers to continuously improve safety awareness and performance.
- Ensure best housekeeping practices are performed and hazards are eliminated at the facility level.
Regulatory Compliance & Training
- Monitor OSHA compliance and safety regulations, ensuring all reporting and recordkeeping requirements are met.
- Train employees on the safe and proper use of equipment, chemicals, and facility-related tasks.
- Manage and administer worker’s compensation matters, partnering with HR on return-to-work programs and accommodations.
- Keep Operations, Facility Management, and Safety SOPs updated.
Project & Budget Management
- Oversee facility maintenance budgets, including capital expenses, safety equipment, and compliance initiatives.
- Serve as a project coordinator for facility-related improvements, working with contractors and other departments.
- Monitor work performed by outside contractors, ensuring tasks are completed on time and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs to ensure environmental compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in EHS roles within packaging or manufacturing.
- Expertise in OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
- 30-hour General Industry OSHA Certification.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate across teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience with Oracle and Agile software.
- Previous experience managing worker’s compensation claims and safety training programs.
- Strong problem-solving and risk assessment skills.
