Job Summary:

The Distribution Manager ensures the timely and complete delivery of quality products to our customers. This role involves providing clear leadership to the distribution team, setting both daily tasks and long-term goals, and implementing strategic initiatives to meet company objectives. The Distribution Manager actively monitors team performance and establishes and oversees KPIs to maintain a high standard of service. Additionally, they optimize logistics for efficiency and prioritize customer satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, and lead the distribution team, including supervisors, leads, and workers across various distribution departments.
• Train and develop the distribution team on SOPs, machinery, scanning, and other warehouse activities, focusing on continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership and guidance to distribution leads and supervisors, conducting weekly meetings to update on targets, goals, and objectives.
• Ensure the distribution team adheres to all safety protocols and company guidelines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and update strategic planning for distribution operations to maximize efficiency of space, labor, and capital investment.
• Manage all distribution operations, ensuring timely receipt of inbound freight and on-time shipment of outbound orders within customer guidelines.
• Create and monitor KPIs to maintain the level of service expected by customers.
• Monitor physical inventory processes to ensure accuracy in movement, picking, and shipping.

Qualifications:

• Forklift, Reach Truck certification.
• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of distribution processes, transportation logistics, and inventory management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively, with experience in hiring, training, and supervising distribution staff.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding distribution strategies, inventory optimization, and cost management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, vendors, internal stakeholders, and customers, ensuring smooth coordination and effective resolution of issues.

Education and Experience:

• High School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• 3 - 5 years of experience managing within a warehouse environment and supervising a staff of 20 plus warehouse workers is a must.
• Experience managing a facility with a WMS. WMS implementation experience is preferred.
• Experience in managing a facility with $5 million of inventory at cost and shipping to big box retailers such as Walmart and Costco. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to move between office and warehouse environments, including walking, standing, and occasional climbing.
• Capability to lift and move objects of a certain weight, as needed for inventory tasks and assisting with loading/unloading.
