Position Summary

As a CNC Set-up Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of CNC milling and/or lathe machines. You’ll set up a variety of jobs independently, assist operators with tool changes and offsets, and troubleshoot issues during production runs. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, precision, and leadership on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple CNC machines to meet tight tolerances and part specifications.
• Perform tool changes, work offsets, and taper adjustments independently.
• Train operators on best practices for loading parts, measuring critical features, and identifying potential issues.
• Monitor tool wear and provide proactive guidance to the team.
• Read and interpret blueprints with a solid understanding of GD&T.
• Document all required production and quality data accurately each shift.
• Troubleshoot machining issues in real time and make minor program edits if needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Promote and adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE usage and machine guarding.
• Work collaboratively while modeling professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of experience setting up CNC milling and/or turning equipment.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled in tool selection, offsets, and minor program edits.
• Familiarity with quality assurance practices and measurement tools.
• Physically able to stand, lift (up to 40 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Team-oriented and committed to safety and continuous improvement.
• Prior experience in an AS9100 or ISO-certified environment is a plus.

Schedule & Compensation

• Second shift position with a $3.00/hour shift differential
• Enjoy a 4-day workweek (Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts) – Fridays off!
